Kathryn began her career in 1999 and has worked in both small and mixed animal practice throughout Derbyshire.
Kathryn qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2002 and since then has continued her professional career, gaining many additional qualifications in business, animal rehabilitation and teaching.
Her world has always revolved around animals, having owned a variety of pets throughout her life, none touching her heart quite as much as her “little mouse” Lottie, a lovely friendly Sprocker spaniel, also being an important member of the team.
Voluntary work has always been important to Kathryn, including many years working as a Community First Responder with East Midlands Ambulance service, a trip to Na’an Kuse Wildlife and Rehabilitation centre, helping Cheetas, Baboons, African Wild dogs and other species in Namibia in 2013, and worked alongside the famous Janey Lowes from Ben Fogel’s “Lives in the Wild” in Sri Lanka supporting the training of staff in Veterinary Rehabilitation.
From July 2018 until recently Kathryn worked as manager of North East Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, where she utilised her skills as a qualified Hydrotherapist, K-Laser practitioner, Rehabilitation Nurse, insurance Claims Manager, and Training Assessor for students training within the centre.
She also co-owned a local pet supplies business in the North East, but due to health reasons had to relocate full time back to her native Buxton in Derbyshire in 2023.
As a Certified Canine Mobility Nurse her special interest is working with animals suffering with joint conditions, offering education, and using her Stance Analyser to obtain quantifiable results to detect lameness. It is also beneficial for monitoring response to treatments.
She continues to bring her nursing knowledge and experience to training practices, rehabilitation centres, and other pet professionals all over the UK, delivering educational training sessions in Emergency Animal First Aid, Business and Animal Rehabilitation
She also works as a key member of the Canine Arthritis Management (CAM) team, working closely with Hannah Capon, famous award winning Veterinary Surgeon specialising in joint conditions.
Kathryn currently offers Veterinary nursing clinics, supportive rehabilitation advice and treatments such as Laser Therapy and Pet Supplies from the heart of Buxton, which is also the base for her well-respected Emergency Animal First Aid training courses which she has been delivering since 2019.
