Stance analysis is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure that demonstrates how an animal’s weight is distributed through each of their limbs.

How it works…

The Stance Analyzer is a pad on the floor that we ask your dog to stand on.

We then take a series of readings; collecting data of your dog’s standing weight-bearing assessment through each limb and stability information giving objective analysis and removes subjectivity.

The hub to the Stance Analyser quickly evaluates the way a patient is standing and shifting weight to give indication of which limb is affected / worse, if there is a lameness issue and where to look for it. Keeping ahead of lameness with early detection.

It can also be good for taking repeat measurements for quantifiable results to give confirmation of how a dog’s management plan is working & how they are progressing with treatment whether that be medication or complementary therapies.

What are the benefits of Stance Analysis?
  • To identify lameness before a dog begins to show signs, an essential part of a standard wellness program.
  • Giving you peace of mind and confidence when we know your dog is uncomfortable before they even show it.
  • To give you quantifiable results and information to give to your vet to aid discussion.
  • These readings are recorded on our system, as a benchmark, so we can use these for comparison at a re-assessment to monitor how effective treatment is.
  • To enable us to give further advice and recommendations following assessment.
Please Note:

We work within our remit of our individual qualifications and follow strict guidelines set out by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons legislation.

We are not allowed to give any diagnosis or give indication of such medical conditions that could be the cause of any abnormalities noted during your dog’s assessment or treatment finding.

We can, however, give you and your vet the findings of our assessment and the Stance Analyser results to give your vet a little more insight into their current observed condition, to enable them to evaluate them along with their clinical examination.

We have good clinical evidence to show that the earlier interventions; exercise modification, home adaptations, medication and or complementary therapies are implemented as part of a pain management / conservative management plan, the better results and longer happier more comfortable life they will have.

Implementing the advised changes, will aid to rebuild muscle mass, correct their gait and weight distribution to aid healing or prevent further injuries when there are underlying chronic conditions present.

This must be followed up with an examination with your vet, if abnormalities are detected, and it is recommended by one of our Veterinary professionals
